Spaghetti v. Spaghetti Squash

Spaghetti Squash v. Smart Taste Brand Spaghetti.

Served with – ground Turkey with Classico Sauce, Roasted Brussles Sprouts (oil oil, salt, pepper and chili flakes), french bread with butter and garlic.

Here is the thing, I am NOT eating spaghetti without bread. It just isn’t going to happen. So to get my over all meal down a few calories, I choose squash over noodles. And I even like it better!

Cut in half and then scoop out the seeds.

Place in about 1/4 cup water and cover tightly with plastic wrap.

Microwave for about 10 minutes or until soft.

Scrape away with a fork.

If you want, add a bit of butter, salt and pepper.

I’ve been wanting to try spaghetti squash for a while now. You make it seem really easy to prepare, so maybe I’ll give it a whirl soon.

I love spaghetti squash! It really is better than regular spaghetti. If it weren’t so time consuming to make I would cook it a lot more. Any tips on making it faster? I have only ever put it in the over for what felt like an eternity in a pan of water.

Microwave it!!! About 10 min in a dish with water and then covered in plastic wrap.

I’m going to be real here. It’s tasty stuff but it’s just not the same for me — I’d rather splurge once in awhile on real pasta and eat the squash most of the time in other capacities!

We’re doing Whole 30 and just tried spaghetti squash the other night! We really loved it and hope that we’ll be using it for noodles in the future!
