Raccoon Eyes

Do you have Raccoon Eyes? I do. A lot. My eyeliner starts off on my lash line and then slowly moves south until the dark under eye circles and the eyeliner bleed mix and form a not so good look. A few weeks ago I asked Alex from The Make Up Bar what I could do about it. I use Urban Decay liner and I love it. I goes on smooth and most of the time it stays put. Well, I thought it did. This winter it did. This summer, not so much.

Alex went on to recommend that I try Sha-Liner, their proprietary brand. It is a gel liner. This link makes it sound like they are low on them, but they assured me that they have plenty in stock and will always have plenty! I was scared to use a gel liner….what if I mess up? I am bad with brushes. What about talking it off? Will that suck? So I was skeptical. But I tried. I combined a brown and a purple to recreate the plum Urban Decay liner that I use. And I love it. Perfect color. Easy to apply with a  good brush, and I was able to clean up any minor errors with a q tip before the liner set/dried. I had to use make up remover to get it off, but my Say Yes to Carrots one worked just fine. Best of all, it stayed put. No bleed. At all. I was able to get a really thin line and it stayed all day, and night. I also bought a nude color to use on my lids as a base. My eyelids are naturally dark and I had been using concealer on them. This works so so so much better. It just lightens them and gives them a neutral color. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

HOORAY! This totally happens to me; I’m definitely going to look into gel liner.

always on the same page…i literally just finished a post in which one of my tips involved powder as a tool for “setting” eyeliner that tends to smudge. but I definitely want to try this liner too!!
